Superheroes honor Olympic Heroes

All eyes are on Canada as we welcome the International Village to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics.

The question is what will they see?

A majestic land, a tapestry of people, the pride of a nation, and superheroes?

Yes, a handful of real Canadian Superheroes will delight onlookers on the Stanley Park Causeway Road, Pedestrian Overpass at the historical Stanley Park in Vancouver BC this Sunday Feb. 14/10 at 12:00 noon.

Fathers 4 Justice Canada wants to use their usual 'lighthearted' style to bring awareness to a serious, heartbreaking issue in Canada. Family breakdown is at an all time high in Canada and some 40,000 children per year are affected.

Behind every Olympic athlete is a proud parent, often seen as heroes in their children's eyes. We want to give every kid the same chance to have such loving, supportive relationships with their parents, married or divorced. It is every child's right.
As such the Burnaby Batman, Robin QC, Spiderman, the BC Hulk along with a handful of supporters will be proudly waving the Canadian flag upon the pedestrian overpass in Stanley Park to show their support of our Olympic Athletes and their family members.

Proud to be Parents!

F4J Fathers 4 Justice Canada wins award from Pride Parade Vancouver

So you think you have them all figured out. Angry men who wear leotards and terrorize women, children and politicians alike. If you are talking about Fathers 4 Justice Canada, that could not be further from the truth.

The group is celebrating one of their greatest achievements to date. The "Biggest Best Float" award from the Vancouver Pride Parade held last Sunday, August 2nd.

This year marks the fourth year the group has entered their float in the Pride Parade with their motto, "Proud to be Parents!"

"People have no idea how equality minded we actually are," says Kris Titus, National Coordinator for the group, "When we say we believe in truth, justice and equality, well, that's what we mean!"

This year's Vancouver Pride Parade was one of the largest, with attendance estimated at 600,000 citizens. Rob Robinson aka Burnaby Batman, and the group's National Action Coordinator explains, " We are there to educate, liberate and celebrate. This year we had 19 people participating with a full contingent of Fathers 4 Justice Superheros and a Kangaroo Judge."

This year's Vancouver Pride Parade marked another first for the group with a 'sneak peak' at their newest Superhero, to be released in the near future. Captain Condom will soon be seen in cities across Canada promoting the message that safe sex is safer than family court.

As part of a new public service campaign, the group will hand out thousands of free condoms to the public in hopes of raising awareness that with parental rights comes parental responsibilities and Canadians must protect themselves from family law.

F4J Fathers 4 Justice Canada represents a very diverse cross section of Canadians from fathers and mothers to grandparents and parents in same sex relationships.

"We are honored, truly honored." says Titus, "We want to thank the Parade Committee and we look forward to many more years to come."

F4J Canada ~ Vancouver Pride Parade August 02/09

Good evening everyone from Vancouver BC. Educate, Liberate & Celebrate.

That's exactly what F4J Canada members in Vancouver BC intended when participating for the fourth year in the Vancouver Pride Parade August 02/09. Proud To Be Parents.
After enjoying a well earned feast at the Bat cave after getting our float entry together on Saturday August 01/09 (Thanks to all who attended and contributed), F4J Canada team members were ready to roll for 10:00 am the following morning. Team members not finding their own way to the parade were promptly picked up Sunday morning in New Westminster BC by the F4J Limo and delivered to the parade staging area in Vancouver in a timely manner (Thanks Mr. T).

At the staging area of the parade we were to be soon greeted by Mr. Don Williams with float in tow. For the next hour and half we attended to last minute touches to the float, had time for fellowship and time to check out some of the other parade entries. This year we had 18 people participating with us upon a 30 foot trailer, 1000 watt sound system, awesome tunes, plenty of food, water and cheer to go around. Superheroes included in this years Fathers 4 Justice Canada's entry included BC Hulk (Kevin Christiaens), Metropolis Superman (Murray Williams), Wonder Woman (Susan Gibson), Venom (Simon), V, Judge Dread, Cat Woman (Birgit), Victoria Spiderman ( Stephen Hodges Whittaker), Victoria Spider Woman (Susanna), Robin QC (Hal Legere), Burnaby Batman (Me), and our newest F4J Canada superhero (a diamond in the rough) Captain Condom (Chuck Copeland).

As well we had 6 everyday superheroes join us in plain clothes which included the driver of our float. This combined with the many props, banners and flags made for a colourful entry indeed. I have included some photos as attachments.

This years parade began at 12:00 noon and wound its way for 20 blocks through the busiest streets in downtown Vancouver in 30 degree weather entertaining the 600,000 spectators in attendance. Fathers 4 Justice Canada was once more very well received and a fun time was had by all. It was a day of many smiles, cheers, laughter and memories to last a life time.

We would like to once more thank each and everyone who helped in making this years event another one of success.

I am still waiting on more pictures and editing video footage and as such it will be a couple more days before this event is up on the action web site. Until that time you will just have to enjoy the picture I have included with a promise of more to come.

More updates to follow.

Best Wishes: Rob Robinson - NAC - Fathers 4 Justice Canada

F4J - ACTION Batman atop Johnson Street Bridge, Victoria BC

Greetings all from one very tired Batman.

This morning long before the sun arose the Burnaby Batman with the help of his trusted comrades scaled the Johnson street bridge in Victoria BC in protest. Our objective was to draw attention to parental alienation and present our take on the current political parties running in the up coming BC election on May 12/09.
From the front of the Johnson street bridge we unfurled a 20 foot by 16 foot banner that read "BC Liberals Alienating Families Since 2001". On the rear of the bridge we hung a 8 by 10 No Dads Party banner and on the side of the bridge a banner that read"Save Katy".

Batman remained upon the structure in protest for a couple of hours before police arrived upon the scene. After brief negotiations with authorities who were now ontop of the bridge with the Bat, Batman agreed to come down without incident if they allowed his banners to remain aloft for the rest of the weekend, which they agreed upon and to allow the Bat to leave without arrest. Which they also agreed upon. Truth is the officers involved were very friendly and supportive. Even after I had asked them if they intended to taser me,lol. Batman and Robin were then able to catch the 9 am ferry home and will be attending the Vancouver low level action at 3 pm in New Westminster BC.

One of my most memorable memories from this action was speaking with the Ontario Bat Girl who at the time was upon her lofty perch in Cooks town while I was upon my lofty perch upon the Johnson street bridge. Too cool.
Anyways I have attached some photos of today's event along with this message and more updates and pictures from all the actions will soon be made available.

Many thanks to all who participated and helped out behind the scenes.

Burnaby Batman Report from Vancouver
Parental Alienation Awareness Day
26 April 2009 00:54

Greetings once more, I still haven't slept yet so do bear with me. This afternoon at 3 pm a low level action to draw attention to parental alienation occurred in New Westminster BC, right kitty corner to the 22 street sky train station. A handful of supporters with banners and signs gathered together on the pedestrian overpass with much traffic traveling directly below. An action that was spear headed by our newest junior justice league hero "Katy" and her mom Ann.

The overall response from the motorists below was inspirational with nearly all motorists slowing down and honking their horns in support. As luck would have it the Burnaby batman & Robin QC were able to make it home in time to attend this event in support. I have included as attachments some of the pictures taken from this action.

Soon their will be a page dedicated to this action that will included video coverage as well as many more pictures and I will provide the link when it is ready.

We would like to personally thank all those who attended for their support. There were even a few new faces in the crowd again, awesome. A fun time was had by all at this brief action.

Cheers: Rob Robinson - NAC - Fathers 4 Justice Canada

ACTION IN PROGRESS
Batman atop Johnson Street Bridge, Victoria BC

F4J Fathers 4 Justice Canada, known for their high flying political actions today put Burnaby Batman atop the Johnson Street Bridge in Victoria BC to declare that Liberals have been alienating families in the province since 2001 and the NDP are the No Dads Party.

The seasoned superhero veterans are pointing at the Provincial Liberals and NDP who have been more than lax on the issue of family law reform. Batman has participated in many high profile actions on behalf of Canadian children, including the commandeering of the Saskatchewan Legislature in 2008.

Halfway across the country in Alliston ON, Batgirl raises awareness for parental alienation and the need to love everyone at the Cookstown Outlet Mall.

On Parental Alienation Day we need all elected officials from every party and at every level standing up and paying attention. The situation in separated families in this country is unacceptable. The current family law regime leaves the door wide open for the manipulation of children as pawns in a battle that noone wins, least of all the children.

"When you hear the stories we hear, on a daily basis, you will understand why we must do what we do. Until there is a presumption of equal parenting in law we will be compelled to use the spotlight of the media to raise awareness. Children don't care if you're a Liberal, an NDP or a Conservative. They care that they have the full and continuous love and support of their parents as they traverse life," says Hal Legere, the groups Vice President and Legal Director.

Burnaby Batman also hangs a special flag, two simple words, "SAVE KATY". To read more about Katy and how she missed out on a Dad and an identity on our JR Justice League page.
A very recent Nanos poll supports the groups claims there is strong public support for the idea of equal parenting in law with 78% of Canadians supporting a presumption.

"We need people to write their MPs, MPPs and MLAs about the need for equal parenting today as a presumption in law." Only then will Batman be able to retire.

ACTION IN PROGRESS
F4J Bat Girl climbs Water tower

F4J Fathers 4 Justice Canada, known for their high flying political expressions today launched a new superhero high in the sky over the ever popular Cookstown Outlet Mall in Ontario at the 400 & Highway 87. She sits atop the 100' water tower ready to greet the Saturday crowds on Parental Alienation Awareness Day.

Bat Girl is the second female superhero to act on behalf of the organization in a high profile stunt that freely expresses the groups political beliefs regarding family law.
In recognition of Parental Alienation Awareness Day, she hangs a banner choosing LIFE. An acronym for Love Is For Everyone.

A mother, grandmother and second wife, Bat Girl realizes that in real life we don't have nine lives, and with our children we must get it right the first time. Parents are too important to be swept aside when parents separate.
The new heroine wants to spread the message as far and wide as possible that the alienation of children is unacceptable and that we must choose love as the first emotion not hate.

"I am fighting for truth, justice and equality alongside other everyday people who can't stand to see the destruction of children any longer," says Bat Girl.

Watch the skies, there's a report that Batman has been sited.

April 25th is Parental Alienation Awareness Day

This year represents the 4th annual parental alienation awareness day. A day that receives more recognition each year and deservedly so.

F4J Fathers 4 Justice Canada recently sent two of their Directors to attend the Canadian Symposium on Parental Alienation Syndrome.

The Directors of our group recognize the signs and behaviors all too well.
"We've become complacent in society. when we see a parent being belittled on the tv or in cartoons, we think it's funny. I assure you that the real life alienation of a child/parent relationship is tragic," says Kris Titus, National Coordinator for F4J Fathers 4 Justice Canada.

The organization receives calls and email from parents across the country who are being alienated from their children. Denial of access is a weapon of choice in family law disputes and affords a custodial parent uninterrupted time to influence the child.

Mike Murphy, a Fathers 4 Justice Director says, "Parental Alienation is a tragic form of child abuse and can result directly from our current dysfunctional Family Law (FLAW) court system. It pits one parent against the other with the prize being the children. We need a presumption of equal parenting to help minimize the conflict and help the children. Its all about our children."
Mike runs a blog about parental alienation that is currently receiving almost 5000 hits per month.

Dr. Marty McKay said it very well at the Canadian Symposium on Parental Alienation, "Anything not joint physical custody is moving towards alienation."

A warning we should all heed.

Equal Shared Parenting Poll Results Does the majority actually rule in Canada?

Equal Shared Parenting Poll Results
Does the majority actually rule in Canada?

Member of Parliament, Maurice Vellacott, Thursday announced the results of a poll conducted by Nanos on support for equal parenting which shows yet again that there is a large majority public support for equal parenting in law with a 78% support rate.

These results prove what F4J Fathers 4 Justice has been saying for years now, at great risk and peril to their superhero campaigners. "The time for equal parenting is absolutely now. As far back as 1998 a Compas poll showed 78% support and the poll we commissioned in 2007 showed 79.1% support. Someone has got to demand that the majority in this country have a voice when it comes to the welfare of divorced families," says Kris Titus, National Coordinator.

Titus is one of 5 superhero campaigners for the organization who face severe charges for their stunts that raise awareness of this important issue. Recently Benoit Leroux aka Robin and Guy Dumais, were convicted on appeal after arguing the defense of 'necessity' for a direct action which closed the Jacques Cartier bridge in Montreal several years ago.

"It's troubling to see our superheros who risk their lives and liberty for the sake of children being convicted and treated so harshly by the courts and Crown Attorney's office," says Titus in reference to the lack of response to other civil protests.

One has to ask, when will the majority rule that stands up for the welfare of Canadian children and parents be recognized as a worthy and noble goal?
If MPs like Maurice Vellacott and his fellow supporters of this issue stand strong in the face of 'minority' opposition, then it will happen sooner rather than later, which is still not soon enough.

"Maurice Vellacott is proving himself to be a Member of Parliament who listens to Canadians. Family Law issues are all over the news and there is an increasing outcry for reform," Titus says, "It's time for Mr. Ignatieff to seal the deal and stand up for what he has clearly stated he believes in, equal shared parenting."

The results are in. Canadians have spoken. Our government must act.
